Panthaka Dabare PMJF PMAF, was born in Kotte, Mirihana. He completed his primary
education at one of the most prestigious catholic schools in the country, Kotte St. Thomas
College.

During his school years,

- He was the president for School’s Buddhist Society, Debating team and Commerce
Team.

Then he joined the University of Sri Jayawardhanapura for his higher education.

During the university times,

- He initiated the B.com Marketing Association and became the First president of the club.
- initiated the B.Com Alumni association of the university and he held the presidency for
10 years.
- He was one of the founders of ‘Nidahas Kavaya’ which led the batch towards anti-raging
during a crucial time.
- After successfully completing his B.Com degree (specialized in marketing), he joined the
University of Colombo and completed his post graduate diploma in Business
management.

Then he joined his small-scale family business, Panthila Civil Engineers. He succeeded in
turning the company into a major firm with the certifications of ISO 9001.

Moreover, He joined the National Construction Association of Western Province and held the
positions of a

- Director,
- Treasurer,
- Secretary,
- Presidency for 3 years.
- He has travelled over 15 countries representing Sri Lanka in the IFAWPCA Conference
(International Construction Conference)

- He is also a director of the Sri Lanka’s largest construction exhibition ‘Construct’ who
has been there from the start itself.
- He was one of the founding members of CIOB Organization started in Vietnam.

Further, he has been the Deputy Chairman for the last three years in the Welfare Association of
Welikada Magazine Prison.

His journey as a lion started in 2004 from the Lions Club of Diyawannawa. And now he is a
member of Lions club of Diyawannaoya Golden. During his lion journey he has,

- served as a cabinet officer by being the President of Cabinet Installation Ceremony in
PDG Ranji Hewage’s year.
- President of New Members Night in PDG Rupa Deerasignhe’s year.
- president for the Annual Family Get-together in PDG Sarath Wijechandra’s lionistic year.
- In PDG Mahinda Perera’s year, he held the position of GST leader
- PDG Chethiya Paranathanthri’s year he held the position of the GAT leader.

Most important awards he has received over his lion life are,

- District’s Best lion family
- The Most innovative blissful lion of the year.
- And in 2019/2020, He received the highest award a lion could receive, the award for
‘Lion of the Year in District 306C1’ and the award for ‘Lion of the year in multiple
306’ as well.

He has received 3 MJFs to achieve a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship. Furthermore, he has
completed one of the highest trainings that a lion could get which is the FDI training and now he
is one of the few FDI graduates in district 306C1.

His spouse Lion Dilrukshi Dabare also completed her higher education in University of
Jayawardenapura with a B-com degree: specialized in marketing and completed her post
graduate diploma in Business Management from University of Colombo.

They are the parents of 2 daughters and 2 sons as well.
